The summer season for Hemyock bowlers came to a close on Sunday September 17 when 30 members took part in the anniversary competition. The morning had been misty with drizzle, but this cleared magically soon after play began and the sun shone to dry up the green.
Members chose playing cards to form teams of four, and five ends were played before changing teams.
Altogether four changes and total of 20 ends were played, each player holding their own scorecard to accumulate their individual score.
The winner of this event, with the anniversary trophy, will be announced at the annual dinner to be held at Fishponds House on Friday November 3.
Helen Lancaster was thanked for organising a pleasant day's bowling.
The finals day on September 3 was also successful. The start was delayed slightly by rain, but again this cleared and the sun came out. The day was well supported and 40 members enjoyed a barbecue at the close of play.
