The December meeting of the Association was extremely well attended with extra
chairs being brought into the room right up to the moment we started!! Chairman
Tim Hannaford speedily dealt with the business of the night before introducing
Jane Attlee, who had very kindly "come out of retirement" to speak and
demonstrate the art of flower arranging - or flower design as Jane preferred to call
it - so that the male members of the audience did not feel put off!!

The effortless ease with which Jane produced design after design was wonderful
to watch but it was obvious that Jane had spent many hours in preparation in
order to have just the right flower, greenery or ornament to hand to achieve the
result she wanted. Jane used both fresh and artificial flowers, together with
beads, sequins, candles, various shapes and sizes of containers - in fact almost
anything you can think of - but the results were truly inspiring.

The results were raffled and the lucky winners were:- Margaret Ackland, Margaret
Craig, Mo Anderson, Julie Steed, Edith Butler, David Major and Barbara Heaton.

The evening concluded with coffee and mince pies to send everyone home in the
festive spirit!
